The ASPS recently released a report on eyelid surgery collating statistics and trends on the popularity of eyelid surgery among various groups. It stated that African Americans exhibit signs of aging in the region around the eyes sooner than their Caucasian counter-parts.
This had a direct reflection on the popularity of cosmetic eyelid surgery from among the 783,000 cosmetic plastic surgery procedures performed on African Americans. The outer edges of African American eyes were observed to not only droop sooner but also lower than Caucasians.
